Loggins & Messina Are 106.1 The Sound

This Sound group is the most successful duo of the 1970’s.  It was an accidental partnership that brought them together. Jim Messina was hired to produce Kenny Loggins’ 1^st album.  By the end of putting together the record – Sittin’ In – Messina had contributed so much material they decided to become a studio act.  It was a clash of egos that tore them apart in 1976 as Loggins thought he could become more successful solo.  He went on to become The King of the 80’s movie soundtracks with songs like I’m Alright for Caddyshack, Danger Zone for Top Gun and his favorite movie song – Footloose.  Messina would have a less successful solo career.  They reunited for a 2005 charity benefit and released Sittin’ In Again in 2009.
