Atlanta Rhythm Section is 106.1 The Sound
This Sound group is originally from Doraville, Georgia. Founding members were a combination of members of The Candymen and The Classics IV. They are widely considered the founders of Southern Rock. Their first commercially successful album – Champagne Jam – featured the song Large Time as a tribute to their friends in Lynyrd Skynyrd who perished in a South Carolina plane crash. Both their hits – So Into You and Imaginary Lover – are about longing for the unattainable. They played The White House for their friend Jimmy Carter on his son Chip Carter’s 28th birthday. The Atlanta Rhythm Section IS 106.1 The Sound.
