Anne Murray is 106.1 The Sound

Marquette, MI – March 1, 2022 – This Canadian Sound songbird was a high school physical education teacher right out of college.  With her first big hit – Snowbird – she became the first woman from Canada to hit #1 on the US Charts. Her Greatest Hits Album made her the first female country artist to sell three million records. In 2007, The Canadian Post Office issued a stamp commemorating her. She is also an avid, scratch golfer. A museum honoring her life and career – The Anne Murray Centre – opened in her hometown – Springhill, Nova Scotia – in 1989. She’s in The Country Music Hall of Fame and she has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.  Anne Murray is – 106.1 The Sound.
