Listen to The Commodores on 106.1 The Sound

Eric Clapton is 106.1 The Sound

This Sound artist grew up believing his grandparents were his parents and his mother was his sister to avoid a teenage pregnancy scandal.  His nickname – Slowhand – has nothing to do with his guitar playing.  It comes from the audience clapping slowly as he changes broken guitar strings in concert.  He left The Yardbirds right after their big hit – For Your Love – was released.  He got to play a Beatle for a day as he can be heard playing guitar on While My Guitar Gently Weeps.  His biggest hit – Tears In Heaven – was written after his son Conner fell out of a New York City condo window.  He’s the only performer inducted three times in The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.  As a member of both The Yardbirds and Cream and a solo artist, Eric Clapton is 106.1 The Sound.
