Dan Fogelberg is 106.1 The Sound
This Sound artist was born in Peoria, Illinois. His father was his band director in high school, who would later be the inspiration for “Leader Of The Band.” It is considered one of Fogelberg’s greatest hits.
In the early 1970s, Fogelberg toured with Van Morrison as his opening act after he produced his first album, Home Free. It wasn’t until Joe Walsh produced his second album, Souvenirs, that Fogelberg found success, and “Part of the Plan” became his first hit. Dan Peek from America and Graham Nash performed vocals for the song.
He often had Glenn Frey and Timothy B. Schmidt in sessions for backing vocals. Fogelberg was also known for canceling gigs due to stage fright.
The holiday-themed hit – “Same Old Lang Syne” – is a true story about running into his childhood girlfriend on Christmas Eve.
Dan Fogelberg is 106.1 The Sound.
