The Little River Band is 106.1 The Sound
This Sound soft rock group is the third best-selling Australian act in America behind AC/DC and The Bee Gees. Eagles frontman Glenn Frey one time called them “the best singing group in the world”. Their song – Cool Change – is not a love song but a reference to a turbulent time in the band’s history. Legendary Beatles producer George Martin engineered their 1981 big selling album – Night Owls. Originally, they were going to call themselves Mississippi. But that sounded too American. Ultimately, they landed on the final name traveling outside Melbourne when they passed The Little River. With over 30 different band members throughout the decades, none performing today are original members, The Little River Band is 106.1 The Sound.
