Silent Night is Part of The Christmas Sound at 106.1 The Sound

This Sound Christmas Classic has been translated into over 300 languages and written by German composer Franz Gruber.  It carries the German title of Stille Nacht, Gruber performed it acoustically on Christmas Eve in the early 1800’s after the church organ broke.  Franz Gruber gave all profits to charity and died penniless.  There are over 26,000 versions of Silent Night on Spotify.  That means you could listen to a different version each night for 72 years!  Legend has it that in World War I, soldiers on both sides laid down their arms, crossed trenches and sang the song together.  Silent Night is part of The Christmas Sound at 106.1 The Sound.
