The Eagles are 106.1 The Sound

Formed in the 70’s in Los Angeles, they left as Linda Ronstadt’s backing band with her blessing, quickly becoming more popular than her.  For the rest of the decade, they became the biggest band of the 70’s.  Their Greatest Hits album was the best seller of all time, only to be eclipsed by Thriller, after Michael Jackson’s death.  The first band ever to sell arena shows for over $100, they sold out the first ever show in Dallas’ American Airlines Arena at $1,500 a ticket.  Band member Glen Frey had a short-lived TV series in the 80’s called South of Sunset, which lasted only one episode.  Guitarist Joe Walsh can be seen as a prisoner in the movie The Blues Brothers.  Having never allowed their music for endorsements or commercials, The Eagles are 106.1 The Sound.
