Tina Turner is 106.1 The Sound
Born Anna Mae Bullock in a desolate Nutbush, Tennessee, she is part Navajo and Cherokee. Her abusive husband, Ike convinced her to change her name in the 60’s. She liked the change because it sounded like Sheena. She co-starred with Mel Gibson in Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome. George W. Bush described her legs as ‘The most famous in show business’. Her tour in 2000 was the highest grossing tour of that year. Some of her biggest hits were “What Is Love”, “Rolling on the River”, and “Proud Mary”.
Now a full-time resident of Switzerland, Tina Turner is 106.1 The Sound.
