Gordon Lightfoot is 106.1 The Sound
This Canadian Soft Rockers helped define the folk-pop sound of the 70’s. His songs have been recorded by everyone from Elvis Presley to John Mellencamp. He’s known as Canada’s Best Songwriter. Ironically, his longest and perhaps more memorable song, ‘The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald’, was kept from going #1 by Barry Manilow’s, ‘I Write The Songs’. He’s had rocky relationships and suffered through three divorces. Often mistaken for a Native North American, Lightfoot is actually a Scottish name.
Gordon Lightfoot IS 106.1 The Sound.
